IPL Auction 2017 : RCB Looking for Death Bowlers

February 19, 2017

Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore would be looking to acquire some decent death bowlers in their lineup this time around. This is due to the fact that it was their bowling specially at the death which cost them crucial games in the previous edition of IPL.

While batting largely was spectacular owning to heroics from the skipper himself along with KL Rahul, Chris Gayle and AB De Villiers, it was the bowling which let high scoring games slip away from thier hand. The only bowler which was an exception to this was Yuzvendra Chahal who bowled quite magnificiently despite being a leg spinner.

Bowlers such as Varun Aaron, Kane Richardson, Chris Jordan were taken to the cleaners by yhe opposition teams. This is the very reason that these players including other 7 have been released from the side this time around. With their main allrounder Shane Watsom having his injuries woes, it is quite imperative that the team would be looking to fill in the void of a death bowling all rounder.

One of the domestic options include Irfan Pathan who has been quite brilliant in the recently conducted Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.Other foreign options include Chris Woakes and Corey Anderson.Tymal Mills from England is also a good pick if only bowling skill at the death is concerned.

RCB would thus be looking to water tight the death bowling department which has been a cause of major worry for the men in red.
