Rashid Khan Looks Forward to IPL; Calls Sachin Tendulkar His Inspiration


Rashid Khan, who is making news as a rising sensation from Afghanistan has termed Sachin Tendulkar to be his inspiration. The 18-year-old player is all set to take part in the tenth IPL edition, 2017 and looks forward to meeting MS Dhoni and Virendra Sehwag during his time in India.

Rashid has expressed his elation at participating in IPL and playing alongside some of the big names in the Hyderabad team in an interview with India Today. The young player also talked about taking this big opportunity to send a message to aspiring cricketers back home. Rashid has shown his optimism for the cricketing future of Afghanistan by speaking of the talent in Afghanistan who are just waiting for the shove of inspiration and hopes to see big names from his country in the game.

When asked about role models, Rashid gushed about his admiration for Sachin Tendulkar and his hopes of meeting Virender Sehwag and MS Dhoni. The Nagarhar-born youngster sounded excited at the thought of rubbing shoulders with Yuvraj Singh, Shikhar Dhawan, David Warner, and Kane Williamson.

In 2017 IPL, Rashid has been acquired by the Sunrisers Hyderabad who splurged a whopping 4 Crores INR for his services. Fellow Afghan cricketer Mohammad Nabi, who was acquired for 30 Lakhs INR, will also be present in the dressing room to encourage the leg spinner. Along with his wily spinning, Rashid also made news in the T20 series in Greater Noida against Ireland for getting fastest five wickets in international cricket.
