5 Things to Expect From ICC Champions Trophy 2017

The ICC Champions Trophy 2017 is almost knocking at the doors. The ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled to start in June 2017. This tournament will bring together top eight One-Day International sides from across the world. Here are some few things that the cricket world needs to look into.


Every Match Counts     

Eight teams will be divided into two groups having four teams. Each team will play with the other three teams in their group in an attempt to reach semi-finals.

Plenty of Runs

Going by the recent trend of modern ODI game which can produce huge runs, fans are expecting the same from the ICC Champions Trophy. For example, in the ODI series in England against Pakistan, the former scored 444 in the third ODI.

Next Generation Players

New young players are expected to make their debut in this global tournament. In the bowling department, Mustafizur Rahaman, Jasprit Bumrah, Kagiso Rabada, etc are some of the players to watch out for. Since the 2006 edition, Bangladesh didn’t qualify for the ICC Champion Trophy. Many things have changed for the team in last two years. This team not only defeated England, but went on a winning spree by defeating Pakistan, South Africa, and India in consecutive ODI series at home.
